For curious appetites

A little more curious
at mealtime.

Explore plant-based foods, familiar fermentation and newer ways of making food. Each listing brings together maker information, listed markets and a checked date.

Listed markets help you know where to look. Check the maker or merchant for current stock, delivery and prices. Limited releases may have no current buying route.

Every listing on this page is checked: a maker, listed markets, dated sources. Open food data is the other kind of page — a much larger layer of Open Food Facts rows published unedited under an open licence, which we have not checked and which says nothing about price or stock.

Looking for a shop rather than a food? Shops near a place lists the shops OpenStreetMap holds, region by region. A shop there is not a claim that it carries any food listed here.

What the categories mean, and what a listing does not tell you
Plant-based
Foods made with ingredients from plants.
Traditional fermentation
Foods such as tempeh, made by fermenting familiar ingredients.
Mycoprotein
Made with fungi: foods using fungal protein or mycelium, the growing network of a fungus.
Cultivated
Food grown from animal cells. It is animal-derived and isn’t vegan. Access is limited, so we show it separately from ordinary shopping.

Meal ideas are suggestions. Maker descriptions are attributed, and we haven’t independently taste-tested these products. A listing doesn’t establish a health benefit or a lower environmental impact.

Replacing some animal foods with plant-based foods can reduce a diet’s environmental impact. The result depends on what you replace and how the food is produced. Food impact research ↗
